After my MVP surgery-update

I wrote back on 6/17 letting everyone know I was on my way to MVP surgery with Dr. Cosgrove and the CCF doctor said to update.  Well, here I am and I'm doing quite well.  Dr. Cosgrove was able to do a MVP repair using the Cosgrove-Edwards ring.  I've had no complications at all except a little leak in my incision 12 days post-op but that seems to have cleared up.
I spent 5 days in the hospital and had very good care.  I did read Stan's post 7/1 on his update and it's true - you do feel like you've been hit by a truck when you wake up.  I still was not prepared for the pain - still thinking minimally invasive everything.  It wasn't long until they got the meds right and I was comfortable.  I have a 4 inch incision and only had one drainage tube.  I am so grateful for being able to have such a wonderful surgeon and so thankful for this forum.  If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me.

Dear Denise,
Thank you for sharing your story with us.  Glad to hear you did well.  No matter what this is still very major surgery and does have pain involved, but it sounds like you did just fine!
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
