All this Regurgitation
I was reading a report from an Echo when I was in the hospital. They never said anything to me about it but it sounds very scary. It states that I have trace mitral regurgitation, mild tricuspid regurgitation, trace atrial regurgitation and mild thickening of aortic valve leaflets! Now, by the sounds of those it is something that will develop into something more seriousl later in life. Does anyone have any insight on this stuff?
As one ages it is likely there will be some calcification (hardening of leaflets and/or valve orifice) and mild or a trace leakage is an insignificant reading and not unusual.
Doubtful it will progress much if at all. May become a problem when regurgitation is moderate to severe...the protocol would be to watch and not treat unless there are symptoms.
