Am I expering signs of an oncomming condition?

by lasvegaskristi, Nov 02, 2007 05:30PM
Lastnight I had just finished having "relations" with my husband and layed down to breast feed my 2 month old.  After feeding her on my side, I starting experiencing sharp jabs of pain in my heart.  My left neck and shoulder were aching as though someone had hit them.  My throat felt sore.  Each time I took a breath The sharpness increased.  Now today it feels like my heart, shoulder and neck are sore.

It sounds neuromuscular if the pain was associated with breathing.

What is neuromuscular?  And what do I need to do?

sounds like you may be lying on your left side to breast feed, which  could be the reason for the soreness.  try sitting up to breast feed. this should be more comfortable for you and baby. as for the pain in the heart, it could be a blockage, so i would go to the doctor and have that checked out. but the soreness isnt from any heart condition.

I wasn't on my left side breast feeding.  I was actually lying on my right to feed.  I started feeling the pain after I was through feeding.  At that point, I was on my back when the onset of pain started.  I went outside to get some fresh air to see if that would make a difference, unfortunately it did not.

Sorry I meant to say neurological or muscular, not neuromuscular. I meant that your pain is not typical of cardiac pain. It sounds more like a trapped nerve or pulled muscle.  If your symptoms don't improve I would see a doctor though.

Oh, O.k.  Thank you.  I have a physical coming up.  I'll let them know then what is going on.  Since that day I have felt the pains again at different points.  Today, after using the restroom I felt that stabbing pain again.  This time it was even stronger than it had been.  I couldn't even move for about 15 minutes.  And when I tried to breathe the pain got stronger.
