Angioplasty failed

Angioplasty failed

I recently had an angiogram with expected angioplasty to follow. The
Doctor said my arteries were too blocked in my lower legs and now
reccomends a Cat scan suggesting something from my aeorta is cascading
down to my arteries in my lower legs. What does this mean? i am 65 and female.
My original complaint was pain in my legs when exercising . I had an
ultra sound and it said mild to moderate blockage.

I am not sure how experienced this physician is. If he can't get up to where he neds to be because of a distal blockage, that is not an uncommon problem. It usually takes a proximal approach from the contralateral side. I am not an interventional cardiologist, but would recommend that you speak to one experienced in this area, that can look at the films to see exactly what is going on. The CT would be useful to diagnose an aneurysm or dissection which if present would require surgery to be done or a very advanced form of stenting to be performed to resolve those issues.
