Annuloplasty ring longevity
About 2 yrs ago, I had an annuloplasty ring installed to handle my mitral valve problems along with a pace maker for slow and erratic rhythm issues. The latter will need replacement in another 6 yrs ... when can I expect to replace the ring?

90% of those rings are good for greater than 10 years and many last for a long time. Those that fail do not get replaced, instead the whole valve is replaced with either a mechanical or a biological prosthesis.
With all due respect to the Doctor. My annulplasty ring lasted 5 years.. My Mitral valve was re-repaired and the ring replaced at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Gillinov
