Anti Anxiety Meds

Do anti anxiety meds help a lot?

Cause sometimes i freak out pretty bad when i get lots of pvc's. Do you just go to your doctor and ask him to write a prescription since your freaking out. Im thinking about getting some. Thanks.

Some people are helped by medications, but it is a good idea to speak to a physician about stress reduction techniques too. If you can break the cycle of how you react to them maybe you can lower your stress level with, or even without, meds.

Talk to your regular doctor and tell him/her how you are feeling. He/she may also wish to give you a  complete physical exam, just to be sure there's no physical cause like a deficieny or endocrine problem.

i take propranolol, but when i have bad runs of pvcs i also take xanax for anxiety which my cardiologist prescribed. the thing is, if you are constantly feeling a lot of anxiety over them you don't want to be taking xanax every day - in this case an ssri might be better.

well depending on the form of anxiety. Xanax everyday is given me for example 2 mg  per day with an addtional 2 mg if needed. SSRI's are just are dangerous over long term. SO speak to your doctor about both.

SSRIs are easier to stop then benzodiazepenes like Xanax.  Both require a long tapering down process but some people get really bad withdrawl (withdrawal) when stopping benzos.  Benzos frequently require dose escalation - as your body becomes tolerant, you have to increase the dose to achieve the same calming effect.
