Antihistimine or decongestant?

What is a PAC?

PAC stands for premature atrial contraction.
Normal heart rhythm consists of a regular impulse that originates in the atrium (top chamber of the heart) and travels downward to the ventricles (bottom chambers of the heart).
Sometimes, the impulse from the atrium starts a little prematurely leading to an extra beat or more correctly a premature beat. This generally causes no symptoms and may be incidentally picked up on EKGs or on holter monitors.
A large burden of PACs may be indicative of electrolyte disorders or other rhythm disorders and may warrant a consultation with a cardiologist.
