Any Miracles out there?

My Dad 70 years old is in Naples Community Hospital,Florida with CHF. He is a diabetic, on insulin. He has had two MI's, Angioplasty for first 52, bypass for second, quad.  He was left with 18% ejection fx with second. He recently He was doing well with more concern over intermit. claud. both legs experiencing pain. He 1 mth ago had stent placed lt leg, and was to have rt leg and rt renal artery (plasty) done.  Several months ago, his cardiologist suggested insertion of the defib/pacer.  Since then he has had several episodes of chf. The first two times meds at home helped, this time not, his internest was doing the treatment. At this time the cardiologis is now involved. My fear is that the heart is giving out and I am searching frantically to see if there is yet another miracle treatment that would ultimately give him a better and longer life.Thank you and God Bless you for your time.

You bet there are miracles out there!  Everyday we see them, you sometimes just have to look hard to see them.

Talk to the cardiologist and the internist.  Tell them your father's goals/expectations and ask about his options.  And look for the miracles.

Have you considered bringing him up to the Clinic in Cleveland. My dad is also doing poorly and they are so wonderful at the Clinic - they have restored his hope.
