Anyone had this happen?

It would help to hear from others right now who've been through this sort of thing.  I'm waiting for the ambulance.  I called them 3 hours ago because I ate some biscuits on a pretty empty stomach, sat down at the computer calmly and then suddenly felt my heart racing.

I panicked because it was really fast.  And because I've had about 4 weeks of ectopic beats.  So I called the ambulance pretty much immediately.  They said they would send someone out but only because I have no car at the moment and I'm in a panic.

My heart rate seemed to be down to 95bpm by the time of the phone call, (I had already taken 2 bisoprolol, 2.5mg each) and remained at 95 until an hour ago when it's gone down to around 79 - 83.  For half an hour there was nausea and going hot 'glowing.'  I know that at age 46 I might be getting my first experience of hot flushes....but I don't know for sure as not had them before.

It's 1.35am and I may end up in ER.

All I know was I was exhausted from a long day commute, hadn't had as much as usual to eat, ate some biscuits and there it happened.

Anyone any thoughts what's going on.  I was totally freaked out.  I know I'm really anxious about all this and I'm sorry about that....but last night I saw a programme where a man had a defibrillator going off all the time because his heart kept going into a fast rhythm.  Scared!

I found this forum after losing my dad to a heart attack (not arrythmia), just for context.

First ecg said low voltage in limb leads, second said normal.  They took blood pressure but I forgot to ask what it was.  Said it was ok for me to go back in to bed but to see my doctor in the morning.  Heart rate 86 bpm by then, but thats with double the dose of bisoprolol, so not sure about that.  Thanks for listening.  :-(

To get to the point, here's the worry.  If my heart rate goes really fast 100 - 200 bpm, does that always mean degeneration into VTach and VFib?  The ambulance lady said when you run or do strenuous stuff your heart rate can go way up.  So the speed itself isn't the problem necessarily?  It's why there's speed I suppose.  If you get it when sitting quietly and calmly, does that always mean something sinister?
