I HAVE NON-OBSTRUCTIVE HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY AND I THINK I CAN LIVE A NORMAL LIFE JUST AS LONG AS I CAN GET MY WEIGHT DOWN.  I HAVE A JOB TO DO I HAVE TO BE HERE FOR MY FAMILY SO I REFUSE TO LET THIS CONDITION GET ME DOWN.  MY FAMILY NEEDS ME AND MUCH AS I NEED THEM SO I AM GOING TO DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO STAY ON THIS EARTH AS LONG AS I CAN.  I AM GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU HAVE SO MUCH CONFIDENCE BUT IT BECOMES HARD FOR ME SOMETIMES BECAUSE I CAN'T PLAY BASKETBALL LIKE I WANT OR EVEN JOG.  BUT I KNOW THAT GOD HAS A DIVINE PLAN FOR ME AND OTHERS THAT LIVE WITH THIS CONDITION LIKE ME IF NOT WE WOULDN'T BE HERE.

STAY CONFIDENT BECAUSE I'M STAYING CONFIDENT WITH YOU.

My son and husband were both diagnosed with HCM. My husband recently had surgery to his heart. My son is 9 years old and is taking Atenolol everyday. My husband never felt better since his op. My son hates being different from other kids. He can't have gym class or play any competitive sports. That upsets him but he understands its for the greater good. This is pretty new to our family as both were diagnosed within the last year.  So far life is good. Try to hold a 9 year old down.:) My husband was up and around days after his surgery driving me nuts the whole time. Its something i wish no one had to deal with. Im afraid to let my son out of my sight. This condition sure has changed alot of things for us. Some for the worst and some for the better. We are eating better and trying to live healthier. My younger son is suspected in having the condition as well. The heart doctor wants to do genetic testing on my sons. Im gonna do it cause we need to know one way or the other. My husband tells me all the time that its harder on me then on them. LOL. For the most  part they are living their lives as best they can. I'm thankful for that. So many people just aren't that lucky. God bless you all.
