Aortic Aneurysm

I have a family history of Aortic Aneirysm having lost a brother at the age of 40 and now a second brother admittedly aged 75 has one measuring 6.5 cm. but without any breaking up of the walls at this stage.  I myself have a blood pressure problem with readings of arround 190-65 I am going to see my GP tomorrow and wonder what tests I need to find out if I have a problem myself. I am 62 years old.

A simple echocardiogram or a new angio- CT scan should be all that is necessary to diagnose any such condition.  I've been monitored for nine years with echo which was necessary to watch a bicuspid valve and enlarged aortic root.  Also had a angiogram.  Recently, an angio CT confirmed the size of the aortic root enlargement, which was less invasive than the angiogram.  It is rather simple to check into this condition.
