Pamidronate disodium (pa-mi-DROE-nate) is used to treat
hypercalcemiaHypercalcemia
Primary hyperparathyroidism (too much calcium in the blood) that may occur with some types of cancer. It is also used to treat Paget's disease of bone and to treat bone metastases (spread of cancer).
There are no reported effects on aortic regurg. Here are some potential side-effects.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
More common
Abdominal cramps; chills; confusion; fever; muscle spasms; sore throat;
Note: Abdominal cramps, confusion, and muscle spasms are less common when pamidronate is given in doses of 60 mg or less.
Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

Nausea; pain and swelling at place of injection.
Less common
Muscle stiffness.
