Aortic Valve Replacement and Rapid Pulse

Aortic Valve Replacement and Rapid Pulse

Six months ago I had an aortic valve replacement.  (Porcine)
Since that time, I have had a very rapid pulse.  between 90 and 110 most of the time.  How can I reduce this.  I had cardiac rehab exercises for a while but this didn't seem to help.

Thank you for your assistance.

jote,

thanks for the post.

Generally a heart rate of 90-100 is considered in normal range.  If your heart rate is a normal rhythm and higher than before your surgery, it is probably due to a slight decrease in conditioning or a change in medication from prior to your surgery.

Conditioning and cardiac rehab will probably lower your resting heart rate if this is the case.

good luck
