Aortic Valve Replacement

Aortic Valve Replacement

Hello-I am a 35 year old female that has congenital Aortic Stenosis.  I had surgery when I was 4 to repair the valve.  The cardiologist just told me that I need to get the valve replaced soon.  Mean Gradient upi to .52.
I've known this would happen at some point in time all of my life, but now that I am actually faced with it I am confused, scared, ect....
I was wondering if anyone that has had the valve replaced can tell me about the recovery and how the valve is holding up.  Especially interested in anyone that has a tissue valve, which is what I am probably going to opt for.  I don't want the 'ticking' of the mechanical valve nor the lifetime use of bloodthinners.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Deb
