Arrhythmia and Vitamin Therapy

I am being tested for a hollow quivering feeling in my chest often accompanied by brief light-headedness and/or adrenaline rushes.  My question is this:  I hear references made to Dr. Rankin's vitamin therapy for arrhythmia but I never hear what it is or where I can learn more.  It evidently contains minerals found to be lacking in the heart tissue of some arrhythmia patients (like magnesium and potassium).  Is this an accepted treatment or an herbalist's remedy?
  Thank you.

Dear William,
In medicine, no study has ever proved that all arrhythmias can be linked to some
vitamin or mineral imbalance, and so I answer you yes, this is a herbalist's remedy, NOT
a medical therapy.  If you would like to know more about it, the local health food store
might know, but I warn you this: there is no FDA testing or monitoring of any such dietary,
herbal supplements, and so you take such remedies at your own risk.
I hope this information is useful. Information provided in the heart forum is for
general purposes only. Only your physician can provided specific diagnoses and therapies.
Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck!
