Asthmatic, chest pains, strange bp reading??

My asthma has been acting up for a week or so getting progressively worse. This morning I woke with an intense attack, used my nebulizer, and went to urgent care to be seen. (Background: In this last week, I've also developed chest pain on my left side between my left breast and left shoulder, and also in the center of my back. I also have MVP and a family hx of heart disease. My normal bp is about 100/60 to 120/70.) My O2 sat's were between 97 and 98%, once going down to 94%. My heart rate was about 113. BP was 100/84. The doctor said since my oxygen was good not to worry. She contributed my pains to the asthma. My concern is that the lower reading of my bp continues to rise each time its checked, and also given my family history (btw..younger brother died from asthma at 15 yo), it makes me a bit nervous. Do you think I should follow up with a cardiologist?

Your blood pressure is probably increased because of the intense asthma attack. Measure it at other times, while not in distress to see what it is in real life. If it is high then you will need treatment, but don't treat it is the setting of an asthma attack alone. In this setting the high catecholamine state is certainly the cause.
