At Last!

by FoozMike, Mar 01, 2008 09:10AM
Well since june of last year i have been fighting to get my cholesterol down. I dont know if anyone remembers me but i am 25 male, 5'10, 195 pounds. My cholesterol back in june was;
total = 250 tri's = 424 and my HDL was 32. After trying to diet, exericise nothing worked then i was put on Tricor which did not lower my total cholesterol. Then i was giving lipitor 20MG and my latest test results were. Total = 164 Tri's= 217 HDL=34 VLDL=43 and LDL = 87. I think that is a huge improvment and it is such a good feeling to get these numbers down. Since i was 19 i have had high cholesterol and not until last year did i actually care. thanks to all that have helped on this forum and who gave me advise. I know those numbers are not perfect but much much better then before and i can work from these numbers to get my TRIS lower.

Those are some nice results, good job! Don't just concentrate on your Tri's though, you need to get your HDL over 40. As it is you have a nice LDL/HDL ration, but the target for HDL is 40 and exercise is one of the best ways to get there.

Way to go!
