Atrial tachycardia post ablation

by smithy666, Jun 30, 2008 01:28PM
How common is atrial trachycardia post ablation and is this cause for worry or a sign that the ablation may need to be redone? It has been a week and I have not had any Afib, just tachcardia several times a days, longest 12 hours.

Given that your ablation was only a week ago and the atrium is very inflammed and trying to heal, any arrhythmia including atrial fibrillation or atrial tachycardia is possible but, fortunately, does not portend an unfavorable prognosis in terms of needing a redo procedure.
