BAV

The following is my recent echo report. I do not feel any symtoms. Do I need a surgery now ?

Conclusion:
1. Fair quality images were obtainable for interpretation.
2. Bicuspid aortic valve with moderate restriction in opening of valve.
3. Trace aortic insuffiency seen
4. Normal left ventricular systolic function
5. Mitral and tricuspid valve appeal unremarkable
6. No obvious coarcartion noted on evaluation via suprasternal notch view.
7. Mild concentric left ventricular hypertrophy

chances are you don't need surgery yet, in Canada asymptomatic persons with valve area as yours tend to be monitored every year until valve are of .7 and .9 in the US.  Also, they will look at your gradient and you symptoms.  I am not a professional so, this is just repeating what my cardiac surgeon told me.
