A BNP (b-type natriuretic peptide) level as high as yours is typically associated with heart stress (as in injury or disease of the heart muscle). Only your doctor can say for sure what the BNP elevation means. Typically, they prescribe Beta Blockers and an ACE-I, possibly diuretics, if the BNP elevation indicates disease or failure of the heart muscle.
Best wishes to you, I hope they're able to get the numbers improved soon.
Hi Kettle,
Did your doctor discuss the test results with you? Did he/she offer any suggestions? I'm not too familiar with BNP values, so I do not know if/what medications might be helpful. How are you feeling? Was the test done because of cardiac and/or breathing symptoms?
Ask your doctor, we are not doctors.
