Back of heart getting no blood.

Just had heart catheterization, after having a nuclear stress test and other tests, and was told that I had 11 blockages, but no stents were put in because most of the blockages were 30-40%.  The cardiologist also told me that I was not getting enough blood to the back side of my heart and that's why my BP was elevating at night to an average of 190/96 (higher at times).  He said we'd just have to wait and see and do another heart cath a little later.  I was taken off of ace inhibitors (and that did help the extreme swelling in my left foot -only this foot was ever swollen).  I'm at loss about this.  I don't think I want to wait and see, but don't know what else to do.

Did your cardiologist put you on a statin and baby aspirin?  If you smoke, now is the time to stop.

I've read sometimes that stenosis (blockages) can sometimes be reversed through lifestyle changes and statins.

I've been on a statin for years, not for my total cholesterol (runs about 156-165), but my HDL is VERY low..my lipids run a little high (160-200).

I can only take aspirin for pain (allergic or intolerant to all other types of pain meds) so have taken daily, for years.

I've had SVT since I was about 20 (I'm 61 now), and have been on medicine for that all this time (calcium channel blockers, now).

BTW, nothing else shows up on the EKG, cardiac-echo, or any other tests, except for the nuclear stress test, and the results were "stress induced ischemia".  After that test, I was sent to ER for observation, because they couldn't get my BP down -247/123. I am allergic to Beta Blockers so the ER  gave me "clonidine" and the bp finally came down.

I am also a Type II diabetic - my paternal side all are Type I, and my maternal side is about 75% Type II - I held it off until about 5 years ago with diet and exercise- readings are 6.7 to 7.2 with medication now.

Except for an old injury that causes a lot of pain, the other medical problem I have is with my thyroid..the left side is calcified and I have numerous nodules on the right side....but, anytime I'm in a horizontal position for more than a few minutes, my BP goes up  - this started about a year and a half ago, when the thyroid problem showed up, so the cardiologist wouldn't ok any surgery.  I'm not on any medication for thyroid.

AND, I have severe allergies to multiple things.

Reading back on this- (all-in-all, I had considered myself as "healthy")  I may have to reconsider, lol.
