I would get it checked out because of the dizzy feelings more than anything else. I'm a runner and my brother is a runner. About 2 months ago he realized his exercise capacity had really diminished. He found out he had atrial flutter. Didn't know it until he had a check up.
He was in constant flutter and had to have an ablation. Problem cured.
I had exercise induced AFIb. I had some of the same symptoms you mentioned when I went into AFIB. I had an ablation and no longer have it.
So I would definitely get checked out, since there could be a reasonable solution.
I would see the doctor yes, but try not to get too alarmed so quickly. Running itself can be the source of a lot of physical symptoms. Particularly running when not dieting right, not getting enough rest, overdoing, not enough electrolytes...if you've been running a while, you know the drill...
I'd get an EKG or ask your doctor for a Holter Monitor to "catch"
what's going on. Many persons, myself included, associate the onset of
vagally-mediated AF with belching. AF can also produce dizziness.
Good luck
Hello,
Is this maybe a hiatal hernia? Acid reflux?
Not sure how to answer this. If I saw a 55 year old in the office with belching that got better with rest and occurred only during exercise, I would consider a stress test to rule out cardiac causes.
Is it blood pressure related or meds?
If the symptoms are starting now and you have been on the medications for a while, I doubt they would be the cause. You should see your doctor and decide if you need further medical evaluation.
I hope this helps.
