Beta Blocker question

Is there such thing as a fast acting beta blocker?  I have a friend who suffers from SVT and she doesn't want to take beta blockers every day because they make her feel sluggish.  She wants to know if there is a fast acting bb that she can take when she goes into SVT?  Such a thing?

I do know that beta blockers are sometimes prescribed on an as-needed basis for symptoms.  The symptoms of "sluggishness" typically subside to tolerable levels with continued treatment for most people, though some do have difficulty tolerating them.  I'd suggest that she ask her doctor if there are alternatives to managing her SVT, there usually are.
