Beta Blocker side effects

I was just wondering what kinds of reactions people have had on beta blockers?

I have been on Atenolol 50mg daily since June and since then I have also been experiencing strange neurological symptoms and I didn't know if it is a possible condition I might have with the nervous system causing the neuro symptoms or if it is the beta blockers.  (e.g. I noticed unequal pupils when I first took beta blockers and have had pupil size probs since, visual disturbances, tingling, pins and needles down both arms in the mornings, tiredness).

I was reading a posting on the anxiety forum as I also get anxiety alongside continuous sinus tachycardia (for which I don't know the cause and have had all the tests the Dr can think of blood wise and cardio wise).

I am looking at discussing new medication with the doctor and would like to know if SSRI's may help alongside beta blockers (I have already had problems with Propanolol, I'm currently on Atenolol) SSRI wise I was given Citalopram which gave me worse neuro symptoms and Sertraline which also gave me bad neuro symptoms.

It has been suggested that I take Mirtazepine which is not an SSRI but I have heard that it makes you sleepy.

I took from 50-75 mg of atenolol for around 5 years and I was really fatigued and probably a bit depressed, just from the drug. If you read the prescribing information, there are lots of possible side effects.

Hope you get better soon,

Jack

I have been taking metoprolol 50mg for about 2 wks, 25mg  for 2 wks before that and I have experienced a lot of fatigue, and maybe a little bit of depression (probably due to the heart problems, not the beta-blockers) but that's about all.
