Beta blockers

by Karen, Sep 20, 1999 12:00AM
I have anoying palpitations since two years. I have done treadmill tests and echo, both came back completely normal. Long term ekg-registration (several months in a row) has not yet shown any malignant arrytmia, my doctor says.
I am currently taking beta blockers for what he found, some kind of runs of pac:s (not dangerous, says the doctor). I have been on this medicin for about two weeks, and I still have problems with palpitations - though itīs better than before. Should I raise my dose? I take 50 mg atenolol daily.
I do not experience any side effects.

Thank you.

Dear Karen, I would consider raising your dose after discussing this with your cardiologist.
