Bicuspid aorticvalve

I have bicuspid aortic valve with mild AS mean gradient 21 and no AR....LVH with excellent function. Reduced compliance and normal mitral valve. BP is 130/88. Stress test shows no abnormality. Cholestrol is 200 mg, HDL 52 mg, LDL 130 mg & Sr triglyceride 184mg. Advise course of action

LDL would be nice to be down to 100 or less.  Triglycerides also could come down.  With a biscuspid valve you need to try extra hard to prevent calcification.  Lipitor studies have shown that it has success in reducing blockage already there along with reducing LDL levels.  Do you eat red meat?  Red meat will increase the triglyceride level along with the LDL level.  I have tried this on myself and gave up beef for 12 years and pork for one year.  When I gave up beef, my LDL and triglycerides dropped dramatically.  When I gave up pork it dropped even more.  My triglycerides were down to 35.  My LDL was down to 79.  Watch what you eat, take your medication has prescribed by the doctor, and excerise.  My mom had a bicuspid valve and hers did not give her trouble until she was in her late 60's.  Take care and keep your heart strong and healthy.

You have a mild enlargement of the left ventricle.  Aorta stenosis will cause abnormal pressure within the LV resulting in remodeling.  When serious the condition can lead to heart failure and loss of functionality (low EF).

Usually there is some calcification of the valve orifice and that could be the underlying cause.  Treatment would be to keep lipids within the normal range.  If the stenosis becomes serious, there is interventional therapy.
