Bioslife instead of Lipitor

by BrianR88, Jan 05, 2008 06:57PM
I have been taking Lipitor for about 2 years now, but would like to get off this drug and try something natural.  I have seen websites promoting Bioslife, and have even seen where it states "Bios Life is heavily endorsed by the Cleveland Clinic", so I figured I'd ask.  My cholesterol has been as high as 297 with my HDL being only 44.  I'm a 37 year old male with a history of high cholesterol.  Before going on Lipitor, I tried a daily dose of fish oil and a garlic pill, accompanied by exercise at least 4x per week.  None of which lowered my total number or increased my HDL's.  I eat healthy and have been told by my doctor that it's my body that's producing the cholesterol.  Not much I can do with diet.  My question is, have there been any studies done on Bioslife, and is it a safe alternative to a statin?

My body too is producing my high cholesterol "genetic".  Mine was over 300.  I tried the natural stuff for one year and all it did was lower my cholesterol 20 pints, still way to high.  I never tried Bioslife, maybe it will work for you, but with high numbers like you and mine that naturals stuff usually doesn't bring it down to a safe level, but give it a try.  Does your doctor know that you plan on doing that?  When you stop a statin your cholesterol usually goes back to the high numbers as it was before the statins.  I tried that one time.  I thought if I take Zocor for awhile my cholesterol would go down and stay down, in a very short time it shot up to 270, I then went back on the Zocor and stayed on it ever since, for the last 4 yrs.
