Bizarre BP readings and Clonidine

Bizarre BP readings and Clonidine

Hi,

I've been taking 2.5 mg of Enalapril for years to control mild hypertension. Since starting menopause, though, my BP has edged up and my primary care doctor gave me 0.1 mg Clonidine to lower it and also help with headaches, hot flashes and insomnia. It has definitely helped with the latter three symptoms.

My doc told me to take it only at night at first to see how I reacted to it. I took the first dose and the next morning my BP was great, 107/70. I took another dose the second night. The next morning my BP monitor would not register any reading at all on my left arm (which is where I usually take it), and registers way high on my right arm, around 145/98.

The BP monitor works fine on everyone else in the house. It's just me this is happening to.

What gives? Any ideas? Thanks!
