Bizarre problem with pacemaker--what is this called?

I have a pacemaker for my heart because I have complete heart block and I'm 100% dependent on the machine. In the past, two other pacemakers pre-eroded. Now, my latest pacemaker, which was placed under the pec muscle, has migrated down the chest wall. I've started experiencing terrible pain along the path of the wires from where the machine is now, all the way to my heart. I feel a painful pulling sensation as well. On the same side as the pacemaker, in two spots my skin has actually sunk in (dimpled) like I'm being pulled from the inside out. One of those spots is where a scar remains from my previous pre-erosions. I believe my pacemaker wires are so extended now that they are pulling me from the inside out. What on earth do you call this? Weird? Thanks!

This is a pacemaker infection.  You must have the system completely extracted and reimplanted on the other side.  I would say that this is relatively urgent.  You can certainly come to see us here at the Cleveland Clinic or go to any other tertiary care hospital that specializes in cardiac device extraction.
