Blood Pression and Heart Rythm

I’m 36 y male, BMI=21,9. In the past I was some over weighted (BMI=28,7). Had, in Jul.2000, episode of HBP–160/100. Since then, started some diet to loose weight gradually till the last months of 2001. Was always healthy. Do annual checkups without problems. Annual EKG´s normal, including the one did in Jan.2002. Echocardiogram made in Sept.2000 also fine. My BP is usually 130-140/80-85, few times up to 150’s/90's.Today in medical office was 160/80, then 150/80 and then 140's/80 - My Dr. says that, im my case, is anxiety reaction. At home, after, was 150/95, then 140/90. Last Saturday was 135/78 - Should I worry ?
- She recommended some exercise (said swimming is good)- Is it recommended?

I'm some concerned about my heart, since had sporadic tachycardia episodes. All EKG was under 100 bpm, except the one in 2001, but the doctor (cardiologist), said it was nothing to concern, only anxiety. In 2002 was normal, under 100 bpm. I have sporadic episodes of 120/130 bpm in rest when very anxious, usually when going to measure my BP. Then, I wait 3-5 min till next measure and than is lower, more or less 105-110 bpm. In 3rd or 4th measure is usually under 100 bpm. Must I worry?

In past my pulse was about 84-88 bpm at rest. Now is 68-72 bpm. But, before, I didn’t notice it and now, if it starts to go over 90’s, I immediately notice it very well– Why ? – Also, fill some sporadic PAC’s/PVC’s (less than 25/hour) and in past none – A week ago, when lying to sleep, had an episode about 2-3 PAC/min for 5 min, than reduced to 1PAC/min and stopped in about 20 min. - Is it to worry?

Dear jose,
I'm not sure exactly what your question is.  Normal blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg and normal resting heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute (bpm).  Mildly elevated increases in blood pressure (<130 mmHg) and heart rate (<120) are not generally cause for concern.  If resting heart rate or blood pressure are elevated above these levels then treatment may be needed.  The determination as to what is the cause of the elevation and the best treatment can only be made by your doctor.

Hi--im actually concerned about blood pressure at the opposite side if the scale. My BP is usually around 80/60 with a pulse  at 62( and Im not the fittest person)I had an episode last July that it dropped to 70/40 for 2 weeks , which landed me in hospital but no cause was ever determined. I am attempting to post a question regarding my problem once i can get in, but if there is a need to have an operation or an emergency arises which needs surgery, is low blood pressure dangerous? Also  I have been having episodes in the middle of the night(no if only THAT was the reason!hahaha) that my BP suddenly rises to about 110/65( the diastolic never budges much)which brings on a whole run of bad feelings, like heart palpitations-more pronounced when i lie on the left side--choking/pressure feeling to my head--it feels like my head is going to "popp", legs which go numb and arms that get pins and needles,my legs go heavy and numb alternatively, and my vision blurrs and speech slurrs- and i can assure you i am not dreaming. My heart is supposedly fine--on the"upper limits of normal" with a CTR of 50%. During the day if i try to excercise, within 5 minutes the above symtoms occur. If I push myself too hard it takes a full day to recover.Has anyone else out there had any of these problems assoiated with LOw blood pressure, or should i be getting my heart checked out more, as in stress tests. Should i consider aneurisms or what?? I have had a cat scan done to check for tumours, have had about 50 bloodtests donewhich only foud out im low in adrenalin and vitamin B12, had halter monitors and all the standard tests and ultrasounds which -at the time -were fine.
