Blood Pressure Readings

by Bushkey, Jun 12, 2001 12:00AM
Good morning.  Thank you for your time.  I have been on Diovan 80mg. for 3 weeks along with Lopressor50mg and last evening my pressure was 88/52 with a 58 pulse.  Is that to low?  this morning it was 116/62 with a 68 pulse.  Is this anything to worry about?  Thanks so much for your feedback.

Dear Bushkey,
It is not uncommon for there to be some "overshoot" when starting new blood pressure medications.  I would call your doctor today and mention the numbers to him.  Very likely he will want to decrease your medication dosages.

A note to our regular readers - If you have what you think is a medical emergency or urgent situation please call your doctor or 911 at once.
