Blood Pressure and Heart Rate

Dear Sirs,

- I read, in one of your answers, that MAP, mean arterial pressure, was defined like (2SP+DP)/3 and it should be arround 80 mm Hg. I read in other places that is (2DP+SP)/3, and I think this is the right one - Is it ? - And, even with this last formula, isn

Oops.  You're right I had them reversed.  The correct forumula is (2DP +SP)/3.  Normal ranges from 80's to 100.  I would go to emergency room with SBP >190.  Anxiety should not normally cause heart rates in the 120's to 130's for 10 minutes unless there are other factors at work (e.g arrhythmias, drugs, etc.).  High heart rates lasting for longer than a few days could cause damage to the heart.

Dear friend,

I live in Portugal, and now, here, is 15:30H - We have GMT hours, like London. I just posted the question an hour ago. During week days, or I post at 13 H, or there is no space for them (Before 13 h it's also closed)

Thank you for your answer I don't really understand the time your talking about as compared to U.S. time though.  I really wish I had some advise on your question, but unfortunately its over my head.  Thanks again.

The best time to attempt to post (never guaranteed success!) is early morning between 7:30/8:30 Eastern Standard Time.  At least that is the time I have been able to.  Hope this helps!

I have tried every conceivable hour to post and cannot get on.  I  must rely on other posters to get my answers.

The time to post before was consistent, now I think the time to post changes. I posted one time at 9:30 a.m. EST and another at 9:00 a.m.  Hope that helps.

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the symptoms that I am going to describe. I sleep well about 2 hours at night but wake up frequently needing to urinate and with abounding fast pulse.  Fast for me that is,  I take beta blockers that keep my pulse at about 45 to 50 beats per minute when I am out of bed. When I wake up with these episodes my pulse is around a 100 beats per minute, my blood pressure around 190/100.and I get so week I can hardly stand it. I have had a moniter for a month and they always say my ekg looks fine,  Well it sure doesn't feel fine to me.  I feel like my body is being ravaged.  I have had some kidney tests and blood tests to show up abnormal.  But Drs. just can't pinpoint my problem. Oh yes I have had an echo and I have had high blood pressure for 30 years under control by a lot of medication.  Some one please respond to this.  I am at my wit's end with it,

i'm 17
sometimes i wake up in the middle of a night for no reason, it then seems that i wasn't breathing for a long time and it's really hard to start to breathe  and move. And i can't breathe while i'm not moving. So i have to put a lot of effort to move and therefore to breathe. Another thing, my heart beats really really fast, it seems like it is vibrating. Dudes, i'm really scared, am i gonna die? this was happening for something like 3 years, but now it happens really frequently. almost evry night. Thanks for help.

p.s. my friend has got the same problem, well, at least the symptoms sound similar. Maybe it's stress?
