Blue over upper lip
My husband and sister-in-law say that the area over my 5-year-old son

Dear CeCe,

It is common for children to have a bluish discoloration of the skin as their skin is more translucent and the venous structures may be mor apparent.  
Please bring this to the attention of your pediatrician particularly if your sons lips turn blue with exertion.

But it is likely that this is of no concern.  I can certainly understand your anxiety as i too am a parent of a 5 year old!
