Bypass Failure

I had a quadrupal bypass operation in March 2005.  A vein was harvested from my right leg and used for three of the bypasses to the RCA.  The artery from my left interior chest wall was used for the bypass to my LCA.  My recovery from this surgery was good, but I still continued to have angina on a level of 1 to 2 increasing with exertion or stress to 3 or 4.   I cannot take statins because they attack the muscles of my body.  I will not take nitro.  My BP is running around 120/62 under medication, unless I am in the doctor's office when it may rise to 150/90.  I have had ten angiograms, 5 stents and other treatments.

October 13,2009 an angiogram/angioplasty/ 2 eluting stents in the RCA.  The dye showed 100% blockage in three bypasses  RCA and one hanging by a thread.  The Cardiologist could not get the wire into the bypasses and Angiomass(Heprin) could not clear them.

What will happen to these veins that are grafted and blocked?  Will my body try to absorb them?  Will they rupture and leak into my chest?  What options do I have?

Good question. I lost 2 veins 3 months after surgery and six months later according to a CT scan they were still there but empty of blood. So I assume they dont decompose but rather just sit there being useless for the rest of our lives. I cant help but wonder why they dont use the Rima along with the Rima and forget veins if possible. Arteries are much tougher vessels and last the rest of your natural life. You had the Lima used and so still have the Rima available on the other side of your chest.
