Bypass graft failures

by Shoes45, Mar 17, 2008 06:37PM
My husband (62) has had bypass surgery twice--a triple and a quadruple--and of the seven grafts, all but two have closed in well under three years. His blood work is beyond ideal, he doesn't smoke, and he eats well. His cardiologist is totally stumped as to why the grafts are closing. He now has two stints as well, one in a graft and one in a native artery. We feel as if we're now just waiting for the next event, but still we think there must be an explanation. Would it be advisable for him to go to the Cleveland Clinic and have a thorough work-up? We have confidence in his doctors here in San Antonio, but they feel helpless, too.
