Dear Grover
This is a sort of stress test that involves imaging of your heart with a special camera both before and after exercise on a treadmill to determine if you have evidence of coronary artery disease. It is more accurate to have the imaging portion done compared to just being hooked up to an EKG during the stress test.
During the exercise portion, you will exercise at harder and harder levels until your heart rate gets to a certain high level, or until you have symptoms that make you stop, or until the doctor tells you to stop.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.   The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
