C.A.T. Scan

Last week I had a chest X-Ray as a precurser to Carpel Tunnel Surgery. I was told that I had a "mass" in my left lung, and that I would need a C.A.T. scan.
The result was that I have a "Tortourous Heart". My Dr. is at a medical conference in Vegas this week so can't answer any questions.
What is this? Are there complications? Prognosis.
Once in awhile I have a little tightness in my chest...not pain.
Family has history of coronary thrombosis(faternal) and congential palpitations(maternal).
I've had high blood perssure for 5 years..being treated with Vasotec. Last reading was 135/80.
Before Dr. left town, he had his nurse leave a voice mail for me that I was unable to question; " We'll do another C.A.T. in a couple of months, then referr you to a Pulmonary Specialist."
So what is this condition?

Dear MJ,
"Tortourous Heart" is not really a medical description so I can only guess at what they saw. My guess is that the blood vessels that lead from your heart to your lungs may be enlarged. This could be due to a variety of different reasons (including lung conditions) and could appear as a "mass" on x-ray. Most of the causes of this are not serious and I think this is probably why your doctor is not rushing the follow-up.
