CT showes Ectasia of the Ascending Aorta

I am a 39 yr old female, have smoked for 9 yrs. 4 yrs ago I had a Pulmonary Emblism in my left lung. I was just tested with a Ct Angiography of the Chest, and the findings showed that there is a ectasia of the ascending aorta which at the level of the pulmonary artery mearsures 3.4 cm compared to 2.1 cm for the descending aorta at the same point. There is no evidence of aortic dissection. There is also a 5.7 mm nodule in the posterior-superior right lower lobe. And lastly, there is a Significant splenomegaly with the spleen 6.3 cm in thickness, 14 cm in sagittal and over 15 cm in vertical dimension.

Alot to take in, and some advice as to what I should expect or do for treatment is what I am asking about. My father, and both grandparents on his side have died from heart related issues, so I don't want to miss anything if caught early enough.

Thank you, I will look forward to your responce.

Denise
