Can PVCs turn deadly?

I have been diagnosed with a PVC, but the exam showed no real cause. I am 49,  in good physical shape, normal weigth, and exercise regulary, incuding running three times a week and weight lifting. My doctor says to just ignore the PVCs since they only occur a few times a day. Is it ok to ignore them. Can they trigger fibrillation and result in death one day when I'm not worrying about having them? I am trying to determine what may be aggravating them, but if I find out what it is and continue doing whatever it is, can that actually hurt me or just alarm me?

Dear MLP
If your doctor has determined that your PVCs are benign (meaning that there is no underlying heart disease), they will not cause you any harm. If you find an aggravating factor, you should avoid it for your own comfort. If there is any change in your symptoms, or new symptoms, you should bring it to the attention of your doctor.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
