Can anyone help me

by Bonnie, Nov 15, 1999 12:00AM
I am a 50 year old female that is having mulitiple health problems that my doctor can not figure out or does not want to.
I have high blood pressure and and taking Atenolol 50mg once daily I has been told that I have hyperbeta Adrenergic state, I have low blood sugar for which I watch my diet. I also have migrain headaches. Over the last year I have been having a heavy feeling in my head that feels like I have a hat on and this weird feeling not dizzy because the room does not spin but a fuzzy uncordinated feeling and a constant lull of a headache not always the banging just you know its there kind and my stomach gets a sick feeling. This is everyday and I can not function because when I stand it feels like I am going to pass out. The doctor has but me on Ativan 0.5 mg twice a day for anxiety and Wellbutrin 100mg twice a day for smoking and depression and Baycol for cholesterol 0.4mg once a day my cholesterol has never been high until now and it was 214 total but the good cholesterol was not where it should be I watch what I eat and do not eat food that are high in cholesterol and never have. I had MVP when I had a echo in 1985 but now after doing a stress echo it seems to be gone. I have a coated tongue everyday which the doctor just seems to over look and any questions I ask him he just over looks them and starts talking about my smoking.I went to a heart specialist that said that he wanted to do a new test electron beam that would detect calcium buildup in the arteries aroung the heart and was told that as soon as he found out where the test was that they would let me know that was is July and when I called the Office  last week the nurse said that it wasnt at our local hospital and that she just stopped looking and that she would try again and I have not heard a word yet. Am I just getting the run around by my doctors should I change doctor I have went to this on for 18 years and he is 72 years old maybe he just doesnt care anymore but from what I understand that when you leave him you can not get your medical records and I really think that I need them if I go to a new doctor. If any one can give me some advice I am desperate and dont know what to do and being sick everyday if just terrible.
Sorry such a long letter but I have alot going on here
            Thanks

I am not sure that your doctor has overlooked a particular diagnosis. However, you can always request your medical records if you change doctors. Perhaps an evaluation by a neurologist will help determine what is causing your lightheadedness.
