Can it worsen

I've was diagnosed with mitral valve about 15 years ago, can this problem worsen with age, and will heavy exertion along with aging cause any problems?

The valve problem can get worse with time; it can be difficult to predict in whom this may happen ahead of time. Heavy exertion can also be a problem, but this depends on how severely the valve is damaged.

What are the chances a person with MVP will have a worsening condition?  I have heard it is pretty low and my cardio. tells me not to worry about my MVP getting any worse, but I just can't help but wonder.  I just feel like I am going to have to fret and worry over this MVP thing for the rest of my life (whether it will get better or worse).  I hate that feeling.

Your cardiologist is right. Most of the time MVP is just there, causes no symptoms, and does not get worse or require surgery.
