Can't find answers

My best friend is a 43 year old male who has ben eperiencing a problem for about 5 years. He was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and is currently on medication. His problem does not seem to concern his doctor but is very troubling to him. He experiences an extreme internal heat and a sensation not unlike numbness troughout his body. This only happens after he has an orgasm. This heat and sensation lasts about 30 minutes and he has gotten so terrified that he does not want to participate in any sexual activity. If you can lead us in the right direction as to what is causing this and what type of doctor we should see we would be forever greatful. Thank you for any help you can give us

My sister's feet became very painful and the dr. gave her nitroglycerin cream which she says has been very helpful.

To the others that think you must have pain for it to be Raynaud's, I don't believe that is so.  My 2 sisters,my bro., niece, and I have it and only my older sis experiences terrible pain and a couple of us have infrequent, minimal pain and a couple no pain (yet).

I am 61 yrs old, and have been suffering with Raynauds for the past year. My toes and outside ankles are especially pegged in deep pain, at night. Some observations:  If any pressure is applied to the toes, pain will follow several hours later.  The colder the feet - coloring shade of blue is bolder. When the feet grow warm, the toes are a bright shade of red.  This is a disease for true-blue-Patriots!!!  Talk about double-whammies, I also have MS!  Thankfully it didn't develop until I was 48.

This message is for Danna Malone.  I have experienced extreme internal heat at random times.  It can happen at rest or while walking.
It lasts for as little as a few minutes or as long as 30 or 40.  It is a very uncomfortable and uneasy feeling.
I have had ekg, stress test, ultrasound, and all came back normal.  I have had chest pain, but never along with the internal heat.
Reason for internal heat unknown. Let me know if you find anything out.
Thanks
Mike

Hi I posted awhile back on Raynauds.  Ok first off just for others to know, My Dr called my condition something else.  I get bluish feet, soles and toes.  No pain involved at all.  Anyhow my Dr  said with taller people the heart has to pump harder to get the blood to the feet and its normal.  So if anyone else is experiencing this with no pain,   its proly NOT Raynauds.  Raynauds is scarey because it can be linked to other serious illnesses.  Im relieved to hear I dont have this,   and wanted to pass this information to anyone else who might need it.  Thanks :)

I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THE DOC WHAT WOULD CAUSE SINUS BRADYCARDIA IN A 28 Y/O FEMALE . I HAD IT DURING MY LAST TRIMESTER OF PREGNANCY AND EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE MY HEART RATE IS AS LOW AS 39. I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF GAS AND BELCHING DURING THESE ATTACKS. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH PANIC DISORDER AT AGE 17 AND FIBROMYALGIA AT AGE 26. I HAD A CARDIAC WORK UP DONE LAST DECEMBER DURING A ATTACK OF BRADYCARDIA AND IT SHOWED NOTHING ABNORMAL. THE ER PHYSICIAN sent me home with a diagnosis of vasodeppressor bradycardia AND REFLUX. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF GAS CAUSING A SLOWED PULSE COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD ASK MY DOC TO LOOK FOR?

My daughter has a vsd (ventricual septal defect)Like asd, these holes cause oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood to mix causing a cyanotic effect(blue-ness in the lips, fingers and feet. The surgery will fill in this hole and stop the mixing therefore fixing the cyanosis. Prolonged cyanosis can cause clubbing of the fingers and stunted growth and and cause vital organs to fail due to the lack of oxygen.

loretta thanks for your info on ranauds.  Do you have or had you suffered  from any other type of health problems?  I  noticed this a few years ago, just looked down at my feet and was like wow, are they bluish or what, then  it went away, no pain at all.  Then its back recently again, I'll look at the sole of my foot and I think gosh how did it get so dirty, then  a few minutes later its back to normal.  No pain, I do get an occasional tingle, anyhow magnesium, can you get this anywhere?

i suffered with Raynauds [and i mean it was painfull] when the sensation would come back in my hands they would sting and burn horribly. Had this condition since i was a girl i am 50 now . have not had an incident for about 5 years now. winters were hell, and even swimming or a chilly evening in summer would produce an incedent. submirge in warm water, that helps some times. What has stoped the syndrom entirely is magnesium. 800 to 1,000 mg of magnesium a day and mine is Totally gone not one incident in a little over 5 years. LOVE PEACE and HEALTH !!

Raynaud's can be primary or secondary.  This means that you have only Raynaud's if it is primary, and some degree of Raynaud's if it is secondary.  If you only have it in your feet, this could indicate that the condition is just developing, or it is confined just to your feet/legs.  Raynaud's is a symptom or sign of disease in the blood vessels.  Many conditions cause it.  And some people(especially women)have it only in one place and it is a benign condition that does not worsen or spread.  My suggestion for you is to keep a symptom diary noting the date, time, type of symptom, how long it lasts, associated symptoms(i.e. occurring at the same time), and degree of pain/disability.  When you see your primary care doctor, bring it along. This is a very helpful tool that aids your doctor in diagnosing and treating your health problems.
Sincerely,
Ginny

Dear Danna,

This is not a common problem and i am uncertain what this might represent although i would be concerned that with sexual activity and orgasm your friend is having an increase in blood pressure that may be producing these symptoms.  This should be discussed with his physician ( an internist).  If there are significant sexual side effects you may consider a sexual specialist.

To answer JFor973126:  An internal defibrillator is like the "paddles" you always see on medical shows, but it is small and is implanted like a pacemaker (generally in your upper chest, sometimes in your abdomen).  It is used for people at high risk of ventricular fibrillation to sense and then automatically "shock" their heart back into normal rhythm.

yes those things came to mind.  Biggest worry is MS, but neg mri helps to diminish the possiblity, with renauds phenomenan dont the fingers as well get blue?  For me i'll notice occasionally looking down at the feet the entire foot, both at the same time, sometimes up to the mid shin, will appear slightly bluish then go back to normal a few min later.  My hands or fingers, nose and ears never get that.  Any ideas?  Thank you

Dear Hello,
Your description of symptoms sounds like several autoimmune diseases-Women suffer disproportionately with these diseases.  The bluish limbs is known as "Raynaud's Phenomenon".  You may also suffer with a blood clotting disorder.  Please read about Autoimmune Diseases, and see your doctor.  Armed with knowledge, you will aid your doctor in diagnosing your problem.
Sincerely,
Ginny

I also have very low blood pressure.  Does your heart skip when you get up or just race?  I have a very skippy heartbeat, sometimes it does it all day and I often think that it is low blood pressure as well.  Do you ever get skipped beats or fluttering heartbeat at any othe times?

Hello,

I tried to post but it did not work so I posted under this message.  To make a long story short, im a 31 yr old female with lower blood pressure, its been on the low end for quite some time.  Im 5ft 7in tall at 134 pounds. I forget the actual measurements but they always tell me, oh good your on the very low end. Anyhow here's my question, Can low blood pressure cause Blurry vision?  Tingling through a limb, weakness, and diziness head pressure? Also I notice at times my toes and feet appear to be bluish then with movement they get normal again.  I've recently hand an MRI to check for brain abnormalities, and MS, came back normal,  but im just picking away at ideas of anything that might make me feel this way.  Thanks so very much for your time :) oh also, at night when my 6mo old wakes up, my heart starts to race very fast and thud, normal?
