Cardiac-digestive symptoms

For the past week I have been experiencing a lot of discomfort after eating;  lots of belching, indigeston, and most upsetting, strange irregular heartbeats.  I work in health care and one of our nurses listened  to my heart, took my BP and insisted that I get to the ER.  I came away with a diagnosis of PAC's and was told that I could return to work and nothing serious was happening.  I have an echo scheduled for next week.  I kept insisting that there was some kind of digestive link but no one seemed interested in that.  The only time I feel good is when my stomach is empty.  After reading some of the comments from other people on this site, it seems that I am not alone in these symptoms.  I am now thinking that I need to see a gastroenterologist.  This is starting to sound like a hiatal hernia.  I have had some GERD in the past and was on Nexium once about 2 years ago.  I have restarted that after seeing my PCP and asking for it 3 days ago, but no relief yet.  What do you think?

I use Zantac,it blocks over production of stomach acid & really helps after a few days,it's an over the counter medicine,stop drinking alcohol as well & spicy foods.
