Cardiovascular risk from sedentary lifestyle

Hi. Recently ive been sick alot and sleeping alit and am starting to feel sick from it itself. Im having frequent numbness on sides on almost my entire body and constant groggy. I am currently trying to get myself active again so i can end this feeling once and fir all but i heard lately that sedentary behavior can cause a heart attack or bloid clots. Im 20 and at 15 i was suspected of having heart problems but even passed 3d imaging fine. However i was homeschooled all of middle school and part of high school. However when my dad died of cardiovascular complications of diabetes i began walking constantly and was in dance. When i turned 19 i got a car and i stopped walking and exercising as much however i am a cocktail waitress and am on my feet for 8 hour shifts for more than half the week. However when im not working i oversleep and watch tv for hours.due to a dead social life lately and then i go back to sleep. I pretty much only move to the bathroom on my days off. Si here i am weak lightheaded groggy muscle aches throbbing aches numbness. Im def gonna start working out this week but can damage already be done? Im super skinny but not so muscular. Im hoping its all reversible but wondering if my recent or even long term past lifestyle could have already done dangerous harm. Since my dads.death i am very afraid of an unexpected cardio related death even tho i am young and diease free. Dont know how long you have to have sedentary lifestyle until blood clots form or how much inactivity results. Can someone educate me?

No, you can't assume that. This poster has some physical complaints and has been ill. We are not qualified to interpret their condition and recommend any lifestyle change. This really needs to come from a physician that has the experience and knowledge to determine if there is an underlying condition that may be exacerbated with exercise.

Why would a healthy 20 years old person need a doctor to recommend an exercise routine? She can do absolutely everything she likes and pleases without a doctor recommendation.

At 20 you most likely don't have heart disease. While it can happen, it is very, very, very rare. However, having said that you are on the way to heart disease down the road. You need to eat right, get some exercise and engage the real world. The best way to start would be a quick check up from your doctor and get his recommendation for an exercise routine that will work for you based on your medical history.

While I was reading your post  I thought you were a fat person, what a good relief to read ..” super skinny”:)….so dear girl all you have to do get up from the sofa and exercise!! I understand you are having a difficult job that is hard on your legs. Many exercises there that use the upper body and stenches the legs while staying on the floor, legs can relax. I advise you to start hatha yoga exercises or /and aerobic movements at your home. You don’t need to go to the GYM . Another great thing to do while watching TV:) is a workout with a hula hop .
About worrying of your family history,and blood clots(it is just in your mind,so forget it))  please don’t. This is your life, your body… it is up to you how you taking care of it with the right lifestyle.  Right food-drink- no smoke- limited caffeine –no energy drinks (it is a killer)Lots of fruit-veg…..Your body  will appreciate for you and will serve you  well for until your old age !!

  If you have any symptoms that you feel is heart related then always tell your doctor, but again do not worry just because your family history, you will not get the same, if you do everything with your power to stay healthy!
