I would like to thank you for the information that you have provided. It has
helped. It seems that since I was diagnosed with the Cardiomegaly that I have
been more concerned about my heart. When I go into the Cardiologist all of the
questions that I think of before the visit are forgotten, actually I just don't
  ask them and only listen.
I just got my blood test back and my Cholesterol is 157 for a total but my HDL is
low, 32.3. Do you have any recommendations that could help me raise that number.
I must be neurotic because it is difficult not to think of the low number. Last
year it was 41. I almost want to have a cigarette but know that is out of the
  question.
Thanks again for all your help.

Dear Clint
Aerobic exercise can raise HDL levels. Smoking lowers HDL levels. Weight loss can lower HDL levels in people who are overweight. Much of our HDL level is controlled by genetic factors.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
