Carotid Testing

My husband had a stress test done in January of 09. He was having hernia surgery and it was a request from his surgeon. Everything was found to be normal and he went through with his surgery. His cardiologist is having another carotid done. Is this too soon? His cholesterol is 183, and he has type 2 diabetes and controlled high blood pressure.

I think because of your husband's health conditions, his doctor is just erroring on the cautious side....good for him!  My husband also has Diabetes, and they are very cautious prior to any surgery he has to have.  I don't know how old your husband is, but with age and these health conditions, our health can change quickly.  I would feel good that his doctor is be cautious with this.
