Carotid Arteries-blockage and inflammation

I am a 46 yr. old female, wt. 130lbs., ht. 5'3".  I have been diagnoised with high cholesterol/trig., some blockage of both carotid arteries along with inflammation of same arteries and vitamin "B" deficeint.  I have been having twitching on the left side of back of head, severe headaches, fatigue, nausea and hot/cold sweats.  Dr. prescribed med. for high cholesterol and told me to return in 6 wks.  He is a GP and was wondering if I should see a specialist before then?  Heard about pernicious anemia on television and on internet and this has me worried.  Please ease my mind.  Thank you and "GOD" bless.

General practitioners are more than capable in manging high cholesterol.  They, in my opinion, are even better than cardiologists.  I would not be too worried about pernicious anemia.  You will just need subQ vitamin B12 supplementation.
