Chest Pain with neck-glands pain

by Sugie1938, May 30, 2009 07:53PM
Hi,  I am a 70 year old female, &  have had strange, bothersome constant pain on both side of neck up to jaw area for several months. I also have had a constant heavy feeling pain in center of chest. A week ago, I had extremely sharp pains in left breast area around to back, for 4 days, off and on. The  doctor told me to go to ER where they did CT with dye, showing nothing wrong. Three days later I had pain when I took deep breaths in center, lasting one day. Since, its been in the center of chest, & after some exertion, I feel fatigued, with a heavy feeling pain in the center of chest & need to lie down which I never do. My doctor mentioned Pluersy but did not elaborate on it.The doctor doesn't seem to think its heart related. He has me scheduled for a bone scan, because of rib pain, breast pain, and sternam pain. He gave me Mobic & Flexeril and after 2 months, the pains became worse, so he took me off Mobic. I took myself off Flerxeril 2 wks ago  after reading both meds can cause sudden chest pain and heart attacks. I had Rheumatic Fevor as a child, with no apparant side effects. Heart attack are in my family, my brother, 2 years older, has had several by pass surgeries, and now on a pace maker-defib. with heart working at only 20%. This has gotten so bad, my daily activities are affected, and I just don't feel good, almost like a flu with chest, neck or gland pain in neck. Is there reason to think this is heart related, or what else could cause it? I have never had any thing like this before, & have never felt this way before. This neck pain is awful & never lets up. I would appreciate any advice to direct me to the correct doctor or tests. Thanks
