Chest discomfort after heart cath

2 weeks ago I went to the ER with pain down both sides of my neck, across the top of my shoulders and down both arms. I had a stress test and then had a catherization. I had a stent put in my left artery. I never had chest pains before and since the catherization I've had heaviness on my chest. I went back the day after I was released from the hospital and my doctor gave me a EKG and checked my blood pressure and he said I was okay. Is it normal to have this still going on?

This discussion is related to Normal Heart Catherization but still having severe pressure and tightness.

It appears that stents affect different people in different ways. Some people feel nothing, others feel a discomfort. From experience, I had a stent put into my obtuse marginal 2 years ago and felt nothing. I had no discomfort at all. This week I had 5 large stents put
into my LAD and I can say this has caused a large discomfort down the left side of my
chest, like a pinching deep inside. I've been told this will subside after a few weeks. On
top of the pinching, I am finding heaviness in my chest also, like it's difficult to draw air
into the lungs. Apparently this symptom will also vanish. I would leave it for a few more
weeks and see how it goes, unless you get serious chest pains in the meantime of course.
