Chest pain and cough

My nine year old daughter has a cough and bad chest pain in the center of her chest.  She has no fever.  What can relieve her pain other than drugs?

It would be good to know what's causing the cough. If that can be solved, her chest pain will be fixed as well.

The chest pain could be from the cough, something respiratory related like asthma, bronchitis, etc. Or it could be sore ribs (chostochondritis) and/or muscles from the coughing. It all gets back to the cough.

I can't think of pain relief that isn't medication in some form like Tylenol. Heat may help if it's muscle related.
